Community turns out for Huntington Park Neighbours Day

Fantastic weather on Saturday for the annual Huntington Park Neighbours Day, organised by the Huntington Park Residents and Ratepayers Association.

The Howick Local Board is proud to support this community-led event through our Event Partnership Fund. Thank you to the generous sponsorship from Barfoot and Thompson’s Real Estates "A Team" - Bob & Anna who enable this event to happen.

The Eastern Busway project team was there to consult with locals on the upcoming upgrade for the park (as part of the compensation for the local impacts) as well as providing essential BBQ to enjoy. And Auckland Transport had their learn to ride team onsite to encourage people of all ages to try cycling.

Great to have Age Concern present, raising awareness and providing practical support for the issues faced by our aging populations.

Well done to the awesome volunteers who pulled this event together, including a local centenarian (100years) who woke up at 4am to prepare food to share with his community! Special thanks to HPRRA President Viven Gao who works tirelessly for her community.
