We will remember them.
On Anzac Day we take time to remember the contribution of all New Zealanders who have served our country. In particular the immense courage of the original Anzac troops at Gallipoli and beyond.
This day belongs to our veterans and to those we have lost in distant lands. We remember their commitment, their bravery, and their sacrifices.
We will remember them.
In East Auckland we gather on Stockade Hill, at dawn and again for the civic service. The turnout at both services today was strong (as it always is) , showing the deep personal and community connections to this important day. It was good to see so many schools, clubs, and organisations participating in the commemorations.
Thank you to the Howick RSA and everyone who helped organise today's events.
