Weekly Wrap Up: 1 June 2026

Each week I’m providing a quick summary of the meetings and events I’ve attended as a member of the Howick Local Board (HLB). This is my report for last week, starting Monday 1 June.

This was a relatively quiet week for me (on the local board front) as it was a short week, and I was away for a work conference.

On Saturday I attended the opening ceremony for the Southern Cross Partners Pavilion at the Howick Bowling Club. This project started 6 years ago with $157k from the Howick Local Board (2020 before my time), with additional funding from Auckland Council, Auckland Bowls, and Southern Cross Partners. COVID and other challenges slowed the project down but the club was determined to deliver it. Awesome to see it opened, providing all weather play opportunities and more options for evening games.
