Delivering for our community

I’m really proud of the work we've done over the past few years, upgrading our public spaces to respond to the changing needs of the communities we serve. Once upon a time, these spaces needed care and attention. Now, they’ve had the refresh they deserve - creating welcoming places for our community to connect, gather, learn, play and thrive.

The world around us continues to change, faster than ever before. We need your input to ensure we're still focused on what matters to you, so please provide feedback on our draft Local Board Plan 2026.

Some of our aspirations over next 3yrs:

👥 Bringing people together and creating opportunities to build stronger connections

🏘️ Ensuring our facilities and spaces support wellbeing, learning and community growth

🛝 Keeping our parks and open spaces safe, accessible and ready for everyone to enjoy

👥 Supporting community groups to grow, connect and create opportunities for people of all ages and cultures to participate

❤️ Strengthening relationships with iwi and Māori communities, while celebrating and sharing Māori culture, language, arts and stories

🎾 Support sport and recreation opportunities that responds to the needs of our communities.
