Weekly Wrap Up: 13 July 2026

Each week I’m providing a quick summary of the meetings and events I’ve attended as a member of the Howick Local Board (HLB). This is my report for last week, starting Monday 13 July.

On Thursday we didn’t have our usual weekly workshop, in the second week of our short break from workshops and meetings. Last week was very busy with other events and activities (well beyond the 20hour estimate for part-time local board members) but this week was quieter.

On Friday evening we hosted a public consultation event at the Botany Library, seeking feedback on our draft Howick Local Board Plan. Make sure you’ve had your say before Thursday 23 July at

On Saturday I attended the Matariki celebrations at O Wairoa Marae in Howick. Starting at 5:30am, it was a long day but filled with awesome community connections and celebrations. Being on the waka coming into Howick Beach was an incredible experience! (See more here).
