Awesome to see the new half-pipe officially opened at Lloyd Elsmore Park.

East Skate Club has only been around for 2 years but has achieved so much. Thanks to the tireless advocacy & leadership from Aaron Martin we now have this to enjoy.

Was meant to be at a Board committee meeting today so splashed on my first pink shirt for the occasion.

Not my usual colour but standing up against homophobia and bullying is enough reason to expand the wardrobe range.

In May 2022, I was humbled to receive an award for Leadership in Safety & Wellbeing. Jointly awarded to Cushla (our Head of Safety & Wellbeing) and me for our work on our COVID response.

We pulled 20 shopping trolleys, 4 road cones, 2 chairs, a bike, a streetlight and a skip-load more rubbish from the Botany Creek.

Supporting East Auckland Tourism’s focus on arts and artists in East Auckland.

Completed the week long Company Directors Course run by the NZ Institute of Directors.

Aaron Martin is the president of East Skate Club and he received a Service to Sports award to recognise his incredible service to local kids.

The Korean Positive Ageing Charitable Trust hosted a local election workshop designed especially to help voters understand elections.

Attendees were given an explanation of what local government is responsible for and role of elected members before candidates spoke.

Thursday 22 September 2022 was International Car Free Day, when we’re encouraged to try alternatives. I had to travel across town for a Board meeting, so I took the bus.
