More road safety projects delivered near schools
Awesome to see another three road safety projects delivered thanks to Howick Local Board partnership with Auckland Transport, thanks to the Local Board Transport Capital Fund (LBTCF).
Safer access to/from school for local students with the delivery of at-grade pedestrian crossings on:
🚧Flat Bush School Road (near Te Uho o te Nikau Primary School)
🚧Kerrykeel Drive (near Ormiston Primary)
🚧Sunnyview Ave (near Shelly Park Primary School)
Each term, local boards are provided a small budget (LBTCF) to priortise local transport projects and generally we've focused ours into safety projects near local schools.
This week Auckland Transport will be talking to us about some potential options for our $4.9M budget:
❓Minerva Tce / Paparoa Rd roundabout pedestrian safety
❓Ti Rakau Drive walking and cycling between Botany and Chapel Roads
❓Drumconnel Drive shared path between Tir Conail Ave and Greenan Dr
❓Haddington Dr shared path between Bonnette Rd and Pencaitland Dr
❓Pathway between Murphys Rd and Bushfield Dr
❓Shared path between Valderama Reserve and Silvana Park
❓Barry Curtis Park cultural pathway
❓shared pathway around Ostrich Farm sports fields
❓Bus stop upgrades for Opposite 290 Murphys Rd, 51 Thomas Rd, and/or 38 Hikuawa Rd.
