Lunar New Year Celebration at Botany Library

On Sunday I attended the Lunar New Year Celebration at Botany Library, organised by Botany & Flat Bush Ethnic Association Inc.

The performances started with the lion dance, a traditional performance designed to bring good luck, prosperity and joy while warding off bad spirits. This was followed by a range of community groups delivering traditional and modern performances.

Thank you to the awesome staff at the Library for making the space available for our community to celebrate and share their culture with others.
