12th 3G4G Festival of Cultural Sharing
On Friday I attended 3G4G Festival of Cultural Sharing at Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple. In it’s 12 year, the festival provides opportunities for local schools to visit and learn about the history and culture of this special place.

It was wonderful to join fellow Howick Local Board member Adele White at the opening of the Howick Art Group exhibition at Howick Historical Village.
Proposed changes for intersection of Pakūranga Rd, Hutchinsons Rd, and Aberfeldy Ave
The intersection of Pakūranga Road, Hutchinsons Road, and Aberfeldy Avenue is currently ranked as the 7th highest risk intersection in Auckland due to its poor crash history.
Consultation on Auckland regional skatepark strategy
Auckland Council is developing a regional skatepark plan to guide how skateparks and skate spaces across Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland are planned, upgraded, and connected.
Good news for Tarnica Playground!
The Howick Local Board is undertaking a minor refurbishment for the playground at Tarnica Reserve, Northpark in Botany.

At last weeks Howick Local Board meeting, my monthly report was accepted by the Board. While I'm doing weekly updates online, this provides a formal summary of what I've been up to and the issues that are in the top of my mind.
We will remember them.
On Anzac Day we take time to remember the contribution of all New Zealanders who have served our country. In particular the immense courage of the original Anzac troops at Gallipoli and beyond.
Update on Stage 2 of The Parade, Bucklands Beach
Since 2014, the Howick Local Board (HLB) has been working with Auckland Transport (AT) on safety improvements for The Parade, Bucklands Beach.
Eastern Busway: Pakūranga Road and Rā Hihi intersection update
Since the Rā Hihi flyover opened in October 2025, there have been concerns raised about the performance of the intersection with Pakūranga Road.

Celebrating Buddha's Birthday with peace and harmony
It was fitting that we gathered at Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple on Saturday to celebrate Buddha's Birthday with a focus on world peace.
